Registered runners totaled 261, with 254 finishing the race. James Terwilliger, Huntsville, won the Overall Male Division and set the new Overall Male Course Record with a time of 15:25.1. The old record time of 15:32 was set just last year. Brooke McDaniel, Huntsville, won the Overall Female Division with a time of 18:39.4. The Overall Female Course Record is 18:23, set by Aytree Blalock, Cullman, in 2000. The Overall Masters Winners recognizes the fastest among those 40 and over. Marty Clarke, Huntsville Track Club, won the Men's Division with a time of 16:59.6. Clarke currently holds the Male Masters Record at 16:47, a record he set in 2002. The Female Division winner was Kathy Hill, Cullman, with a time of 22:45.5. Hill also holds the Female Masters course record with a time of 22:19, which she set in 2001. Other course records broken during this year's event include the following: 9-14 Female Division--Jennifer Dunn, Decatur, 21:20.3 (old record--21:47 set in 1999 by Sierra Willoughby) 9-14 Male Division--Charles Clayton, Cullman, 18:42.7 (old record--19:30 set in 2001 by Matt McLellan) 20-24 Male Division--Tyler Stanfield, Homewood, 15:38.5 (old record--15:40 set in 2002 by James Terwilliger) 25-29 Female Division--Aytree Blalock, Cullman, 19:50.9 (old record--23:19 set in 2000 by Kim Whitman) 30-34 Male Division--Dave Milner, Nashville, 16:40.2 (old record--18:15 set in 1999 by Jeff Clark) 40-44 Male Division--Tim Lee, Cullman, 17:43.1 (old record--18:04 set in 2002 by Duane Ricketts) 60-64 Male Division--Joe Quillen, Tennessee River Athletic Club, 19:58.7 (old record--20:15 set in 2001 by Joe Quillen) 70 & Up Female Division--Jo Morris, Birmingham, 43:34.8 (no previous record) Runners from all across Alabama came to Cullman for the unique race and enjoyed Coca- Cola, Domino's Pizza, music and fruit while waiting for the race results inside the Cullman Civic Center. Doorprizes were also given out, along with three specialty awards. The "Youngest Runner" Award was presented to 7-year old Lee Mattox from Moulton. Young Mr. Mattox also went on to win his division, the 8 & Under Division, with a time of 35:30.6. The "Most Senior Runner" Award was claimed by Herb Johnson, a 78-year old resident of Cullman who finished the race in 31:18.2, allowing him to capture 2nd place in the 70 & Up Division. The final award, the "On the Road Runner" Award was given to the person who traveled the farthest distance to participate in the race. Members of the Phillip Hamilton Family, who happened to be in town from Spanish Fort, Alabama, for a wedding celebration, took home this prize.
