Congratulations to Josh Whitehead and Jessica Moran, overall winners of the 5th Annual Dam-Bridge Run 10K. Whitehead's 31:58 was a new course record. Masters winners were Stacey Lemay and Jennie Rountree. Robert Aby, of Northfield, MN, was the male grandmaster and Nancy Dill from Murfreesboro, TN, was first in the female grandmasters category. Last year's winner, Lucas Sieb was only 3 seconds behind Whitehead, running 32:01 and setting a new Alabama State Age Record for 16 year-old males.

Cecil Hester of Tuscumbia was the winner of the $50 Mid-Pack award and grandmasters winner Robert Aby took home the $250 pre-registration incentive award drawing.

Participation was up 43 percent over last year with a record 257 finishers. Once again there were many runners from outside the Shoals Area.

The following people were recognized for running the Dam-Bridge Run every year: Sue Burcham, Tony Eckl, Steve Fulmer, Cecil Hester, Bryan Lindsey, Mike McCartney, Graham Paxton, Thomas Pearce, Heath White, and Jan Woods. Thanks to everyone who ran, especially those who came from out of town. We hope your experience here was a good one and that you will return again for the 2010 Dam-Bridge Run.

This race could not take place without the 30+ volunteers who gave of their time and efforts. A special thanks to the employees of SCA Tissue who manned the water stations on the course.
